Nature2 Start-up

CATRIDGE START-UP INSTRUCTIONS

Clean debris and algae out of the pool and clean pool filter.

Important: Do not install the new cartridge until the pool water is chemically balanced.

Balance pool water: All swimming pools, including Nature2 pools, require properly balanced water.

• pH 7.2 - 7.8
• total hardness 200 - 300 ppm
• total alkalinity 80 -120 ppm

Consult with your dealer for specific guidelines for balancing pool water in your area.




Install or Change the cartridge:

• Shut off pump and filter

• Close any valves between the filter and pool to prevent draining the pool

• Remove the housing cap

• Remove and discard old cartridge (if present)

• For all models, except those with 2 piece locking ring cap, remove and discard O-ring (if present), install new O-ring provided with catridge onto the housing.

• Install your new Nature2 cartridge, it will drop into place when the key tabs line up. Be sure that the foam spacer is installed in the top of the cartridge (the spacer may have come loose during shipping).

• Screw the cap back onto the housing. Cap should be hand tightened and snug but not over-tightened.

• Open valves that were closed

• Restart pump, check for and repair any leaks






Super-oxidize (shock) pool with chlorine:

Super-oxidize water with 100g or 1 litre of chlorine per 10,000 liters of water to burn off contaminants and to activate the cartridge.

**Important: initial super-oxidation with chlorine is required to activate new cartridge.





Activate the Nature2 cartridge:

Run the pump and filter system 24 hours a day for 4 days

or

Run the pump and filter system 6 hours per day for 14 days


1-Maintain high (1-2 ppm) residual free chlorine level throughout the 4 day or 14 day activation period. Local conditions may require an extra one or two weeks for proper start-up (for example, periods of heavy rains or extremely hot weather).

2- Let the free chlorine level drop to 0.6 ppm when the cartridge activation period is complete.

3- Follow the Low Chlorine Recipe
