What size pump do I need?

The required size is at least 3/4 horse-power pump. However, depending on the placement of the pump in relation to the pool and the age of the pump, a one horse-power pump may be necessary. In most cases the Zodiac Automatic Pool Cleaner does not require the full suction that the pump can provide and a Flowkeeper® valve is supplied so that you can adjust the amount of flow through the cleaner.

Can I use my Zodiac Automatic Pool Cleaner when the solar blanket is on the pool?

Yes you can. The cleaner's coverage of the pool may be slightly inhibited however, because of the contact between the hose and the solar blanket. It may take a little longer to clean the pool or may miss spots.

Can I run my Zodiac Automatic Pool Cleaner 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

We suggest that you do not operate your cleaner 24 hours a day as this may decrease the longevity of your cleaner as well as your pool liner.

What parts will I need to replace?

Because the diaphragm is the only moving part in Zodiac Automatic Pool Cleaners, there is little maintenance involved. Large debris, children's toys, and twigs should be removed manually from the pool but if something gets lodged in the diaphragm of the cleaner it can easily be removed. Sometimes large objects can tear the diaphragm or cause it to wear and it would need to be replaced. Diaphragms are available through your Zodiac dealer and are covered by the 3 year wear-and-tear warranty, and after the 3 years for a low cost.

Will my Zodiac Automatic Pool Cleaner clean the walls?

The cleaner in most cases will climb the walls of your pool. However, it may not climb some vinyl-lined pools or pools with safety ledges. Refer to the troubleshooting guide for tips on helping the your cleaner to climb higher on the walls.

How long will my Zodiac Automatic Pool Cleaner take to clean the pool?

Of course it varies greatly from one pool to the next but it can take anywhere from 4 to 10 hours. Increased flow to the cleaner can make it go faster.

Will my Zodiac Automatic Pool Cleaner make noise?

Zodiac Automatic Pool Cleaners are simply the quietest pool cleaners on the market. Unlike other pool cleaners, there are no flappers or hammers which make noise.
